It started on a rugby field, where co-founders Eric and Craig learned the value of skill, hard work, and showing up for the person next to you. That foundation became Elite Construction. For over two decades, Eric and Craig built one of Santa Cruz County's most trusted remodeling companies, one five-star project at a time. If you found us through Elite, you already know what to expect. That reputation is exactly why this company exists — to bring that same standard to the two spaces we care about most.
Over those years, something became clear: every type of project has its own craft. Bathrooms and closets are the spaces people live in most intimately — the ones that shape how every day starts and ends. Eric and Craig saw an opportunity to give those projects a dedicated home, with a team built exclusively around them.
The Closet & Bath Company is that home. Founded by Eric and Craig, it runs alongside Elite Construction. Craig continues to lead Elite's larger builds. Eric leads The Closet & Bath Company. Two focused teams, both grounded in twenty years of the same standard of excellence.
There's real value in specialization. So we chose bathrooms and closets and built everything around them.

Eric
FOUNDER
An engineer by training, Eric brings a systems thinker's precision to every project — the kind of person who's already three steps ahead before the first material is chosen. He co-founded Elite Construction over twenty years ago and now leads The Closet & Bath Company, the focused expression of everything he loves most about the work. Clients tend to describe him the same way: a little Texas charm, genuinely funny, and someone who looks out for the people in the room, whether that's his crew or yours.
Craig
Co-Founder
Craig arrived in Santa Cruz from New Zealand, where he'd spent four years in one of the most rigorous building apprenticeship programs in the world. The standards he brought with him never left. He met Eric on the rugby pitch playing for the Beach Dogs, and what started as a shared love of the game turned into a twenty-year partnership. Craig leads our field team and has spent twenty years making sure the work in the field matches the vision on paper. His crew will tell you he has an eye for things being right that's difficult to explain and impossible to argue with.
Lori

Lori is the designer you'll spend the most time with. She guides clients from concept through material selection, offering a rare combination of aesthetic confidence and practical knowledge about what actually works. She'll walk showrooms with you, help you navigate decisions, and make sure the final result reflects how you want to live in the space.
Kyle
Project Manager
Kyle keeps every moving part on track. From permits and timelines to subcontractor coordination and product ordering, he manages the details so nothing falls through the cracks and you never have to chase an update. Clients appreciate that he communicates clearly and consistently throughout the build. When something changes, you hear it from Kyle directly, before it becomes a surprise.
Jacob
Lead Contractor
Jacob is the person whose work you'll live with every day. The fit of a drawer, the finish on a shelf, the way a threshold meets the floor — these are the details that separate a good project from a great one, and Jacob is the reason they're right. He takes pride in work that holds up, and that standard is visible in every project he touches.
Maria
Business Operations Manager
Behind every project that runs smoothly is a company that runs smoothly first. Maria keeps all the balls in the air — operations, payroll, employee management, vendor coordination. The work that makes great client experiences possible happens long before anyone picks up a tile saw. She's the reason this team shows up ready to do their best work every single day. Currently expanding her role into design, Maria is training in closet systems — bringing the same organizational precision she applies to running the company to the spaces she'll help clients create.
